Ethel (Sug) Jane Combs Mosley Moye Fitzgerald

She was born August 23, 1933 to Wesley John Combs and Flora Jane Combs in Gary, West Virginia.

She loved her Lord and family with great passion and dedication. Her laughter brought joy to everyone around her and her smile could light any room. She would lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Memories will be cherished by all those who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Ethel was predeceased by her three beloved husbands; Perry Henry Mosley who died July 4, 1962, Shawney Blake Moye who died October 29, 1987, and William E. Fitzgerald who died December 24, 1993. She was also predeceased by her brothers James A. Hawks, Edward C. Hawks, Daniel B. Hawks, Howard Combs, William I. Combs, Clarence W. Combs; and sisters, Virginia Mae Spangler, Pauline Hylton, and Virginia Dodson.

Ethel is survived by her only daughter and loving caregiver, Gay Ann Mosley Rankin. She is survived by two grandchildren: Amanda Dawn Rankin of Richmond, VA, and Shawn Patrick Rankin of Verona, VA; and five great grandchildren, Kayla Marie Lunsford, Tyler Blake Lunsford, Tucker Douglas Rankin, LeAnna Elizabeth Rankin and Jordan Douglas Montgomery.

She has one sister, Hazel Ellinger of Waynesboro, a sister-in-law, Hazel Combs of Virginia Beach, VA and a brother, David Howard Hawks of North Carolina.

She is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, July 6, 2013 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes by Pastor John Hamric. Burial will follow at Augusta Memorial Park.

Active pallbearers will be Jordan Montgomery, David Spangler, Gary Spangler, Paul Fitzgerald, Tony Harris and Charles Lunsford.

The family would like to thank Dr. Christopher Heck of Carilion Associated Physicians, as well as Hospice of the Shenandoah, especially nurses Cheri Jones and Mary Scott Miller for the amazing care and compassion that they provided Ethel.

The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 PM Friday, July 5, 2013 at the funeral home.
