

Floyd was born in Fairview, Missouri to Luva and Carl Draper on June 25th, 1932. He graduated from Wheaton High School in Wheaton, Missouri. Floyd served in the United States Navy from 1952 to 1956, where he met his wife on a blind date when his ship docked in Norfolk. After his time in the Navy, Floyd settled in Virginia, where he worked for GE / Genicom for many years. He also owned and operated Draper’s Bike Shop where he repaired bicycles and skateboards, as well as doing framing work. In his spare time, Floyd enjoyed square dancing with his wife Doris, going to yard sales, and playing poker. He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Waynesboro.
In addition to his parents, Floyd was preceded in death by the love of his life, his beloved wife of 58 years, Doris Draper.
Floyd is survived by his daughters, Debbie Draper Wilkinson and husband Rick and Tammy Draper Childress and husband Jeff. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
Following a private burial, a memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 30th, 2025 at 12:00 PM at First Baptist Church in Waynesboro, with Pastor Justin Moser officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church in Waynesboro.
There will be no formal viewing or visitation at the funeral home.
