

Lewis Franklin “Frank” Bragg, 85, of Waynesboro passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at Kings Daughters Community Health & Rehab. He was born on March 4, 1931, a son of the late Birchie and Lottie Bragg.
Frank honorably served his country as a Marine during the Korean War. He was employed as a supervisor at Wayne Tech until his retirement after 40 years of service. Following retirement, Frank worked at Wintergreen Resort for 14 years. Frank was a member of Glovier Memorial United Methodist Church, where he served as President of the Men’s Club. He was a loyal supporter of the Waynesboro Little Giants, where, along with his first wife, was inducted into the Hall of Fame. Then, he started supporting the Stuarts Draft Cougars for his grandchildren. Frank was the founder and coach of Unexpected Softball. Other than his love for sports, Frank greatly enjoyed hunting and fishing. He will be remembered for being a devoted Christian and for being a friend to all he met.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Norma Lee Bragg; a daughter, Gail Diana Hanger; siblings, Joe, Mack, and Harvey Bragg, Rosetta Braden, Loretta Carver, Hazel Campbell and Mary Shifflett.
Survivors include his wife, Gerry Bragg; a beloved granddaughter, Beth Renee Turner and her husband, J. B. ”Jacob” Turner, Jr.; four great-grandchildren, Alexis, Logan, Bailey and Addison Turner; step daughter, Annette Lewis and her husband, Rev. Isidore; four step grandchildren, Kierston, Tyshawn, Aiden and Dathaniel Lewis; sister, Esther Roach; sister-in-law, Virginia Bragg; brother-in-law, Edward Campbell; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Frank also leaves behind his Unexpected Softball Team Family and many other friends.
A graveside service with Military Honors will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at Augusta Memorial Park with Rev. Isidore Lewis and Rev. Ryan Schaeffer officiating.
Active Pallbearers will be J.B. Turner, Jr., Frankie Truslow, Darren Ruff, Steve Sudeen, Tony Helmick and Steve Allen. Honorary Pallbearers will be the members of Glovier Memorial United Methodist Men’s Club.
There will be no public viewing or visitation at the funeral home. The family will receive friends at The Bragg’s home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Frank’s memory to Glovier Memorial United Methodist Church, 688 Highland Ave., Waynesboro, VA 22980.
