Gary Alexander Mayse

Born May 24, 1944 in Bath County, Virginia he was the son of the late George A. and Beulah (Hinkle) Mayse.

Gary was a member of Fishersville United Methodist Church. He was employed with the Virginia Department of Game and Fisheries where he worked at the trout farm in Paint Bank, VA and after 44 years of service he retired.

Survivors include his loving wife Sandra Judd Mayse; sister, Pat Collier of Richmond, VA; step-children, William Wilt of Bath County, VA, Deborah Stevens of Gladstone, VA and Heather Shifflett of Waynesboro; step-grandchildren, Jacob and Sierra Stevens; cousin, John Mayse and wife Barbara of Stuarts Draft, VA; as well as a number of extended family and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, November 9, 2012 at Fishersville United Methodist Church with Rev. Larry Jent officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family would like to invite those who attend the service to join in a meal and a time of fellowship back at the church following the burial.

Active pallbearers will be Greg Hughes, Jacob Stevens, Michael Painter, Mike Saffell, Woddy Igo and Ernie Palmer.

Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Judd, John Mayse and William Wilt.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, November 8, 2012 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 618 W. Main Street.
