Harold Winston Ward

Born November 28, 1945 in Albemarle County, he was the son of the late Jessie and Christine Ward.

Harold dedicated more than 30 years of his career to Sperry Marine, where he worked as a draftsman. Later in life, he continued to share his talents as an estate caretaker. A U.S. Air Force veteran, Harold served his country honorably rising to the rank of Sergeant. In recognition of his service, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. He was a lifetime member of American Legion Post #74. As an avid outdoorsman, he cherished and enjoyed his time spent in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Harold will be remembered for his love and devotion to his family.

Survivors include his daughter, Jennifer Ward of Charlottesville; sister, Linda Leake (Meredith) of Hood, VA; niece, Melissa Larkin (Jim) of Crozet; and great nieces, Ava Peters and Jena Peters of Crozet.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at Holly Memorial Gardens, 3251 Seminole Trail, Charlottesville. All who plan to attend are asked to meet directly at the cemetery.
