She was born on April 11, 1925 in Saltville, Virginia, a daughter of the late Thomas Andrew Henegar and Ethel Frye Henegar. She was married to the late Raymond Kenneth Marion. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Raymond Kenneth Marion, Jr.; two sisters, Wilma Alice Henegar and Esther Lynette Olinger; and brother, Thomas Andrew Henegar, Jr. Kitty was the last member of her immediate family.
Kitty was employed as the Acting Postmaster at North Holston, Virginia, before coming to Waynesboro where she was employed by Gray Drug and Sherwin Williams for 22 years.
Kitty is survived by daughter, Teresa Marion Coulthard and husband, Jim, and son, Richard Lynn Marion and wife, Diane; 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by nieces whom she loved as her own: Donna Hayes, Esther Crabtree, Sandy Buchanan, and Dawn Buchanan. The family would like to give thanks to long time friends, John L. Lynn and his family, Mickey and Margaret Lucas, Linda Botkin and Mildred Almarode. A special thank you to the extraordinary caregivers at Stuarts Draft Christian Retirement Community for the love and attention given to our Mom during her 14 months at the Meadows.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, December 10, 2021 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 618 W. Main St., Waynesboro. The family asks for anyone planning to attend the visitation, to please wear a facial covering. Per her wishes, Kitty was cremated. A private graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Mount Rose Cemetery, Glade Spring, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Stuarts Draft Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1054, Stuarts Draft, VA 24477.
