

Born April 25, 1925, he was a son of the late Howard and Gracie Layne Crickenberger.
He was a member of Fishersville Baptist Church, retired from DuPont Company of Waynesboro, was a U.S. Navy Veteran having served his country honorably at Normandy during WWII.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Alice Crickenberger; a brother, Raymond “Corky” Crickenberger.
Survivors include his children, Steven Layne Crickenberger and his wife Darlene of KS, Michael Howard Crickenberger and his wife Kristine K. of PA, Laura Ann Hull and her husband Bruce A. of Waynesboro; a sister, Elva Tuttle of Staunton, six grandchildren, Heather Crickenberger, Ian Crickenberger, Aaron Crickenberger, Sean Crickenberger and wife Jennifer Ivey-Crickenberger, Paige Hull, Matthew Hull, and one great-grandson, Desmond Michael Crickenberger; sister-in-law, Margaret R. Crickenberger of Grottoes.
Following a private family graveside service, a memorial service will be held 3:00 p.m. Friday, November 13, 2015 at Fishersville Baptist Church with Pastor John Hamric officiating. Military rites will be provided by American Legion Post 340.
Active pallbearers will be William S. Tuttle, Aaron Crickenberger, Sean Crickenberger, Matthew Hull, Bruce Hull and Scott Crickenberger.
The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Thursday, November 12, 2015 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes.
