Hubert Cecil New

Born October 18, 1930, he was a son of the late John Henry and Etta Brooks New.

He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean Conflict, retired as supervisor from APAC Paving and was a member of Wayne Hills Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty New, as well as a number of brothers and sisters.

Survivors include a son, Timothy New of Pennsylvania; a daughter, Elaine New of Richmond; a step-daughter, Judy Cason and her husband Bill of Waynesboro; grandchildren, Stacey, Joshua, Joseph and Jacob New, Nathan Wash and his wife Julie, Miranda Wash, Chris Cason and his wife Emilie; great-grandchildren, Quinton and Kaylee Wash, Kate and Brooklyn Cason; a brother, William Foster New of Rocky Mount, North Carolina.

A service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 21, 2016 at Wayne Hills Baptist Church with Pastor Danny Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park with military rites by American Legion Post 340.

Active pallbearers will be Ernest Avery, Rupert Chandler, Marvin Chaplin, Richard Hodge, Gene Madison and Bill Waggy.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
