

Born March 17, 1935 in Charlottesville, he was the son of the late Hugh Wallace Kennedy, Sr. and May (Toombs) Kennedy.
Wally was a faithful employee with G.E. and retired after 35 years of service. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran having obtained the rank of SSGT, serving his country honorably during the Korean War. In earlier years, he enjoyed building sailboats, sailing and camping. Those who knew him will remember him as a loving husband, father and grandfather.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis A. Kennedy and brother, Maynard Kennedy.
Survivors include his loving children, Lynn Glenn of Waynesboro, Donna VanSise of Grottoes, Neil Kennedy of Waynesboro and Sean Kennedy of Waynesboro; brother, George James “Jim” Kennedy of Ruckersville; grandchildren, Adina Gaskin, Devin Swanson, Adam Glenn, Megan Kennedy, Ryan Kennedy, Michael VanSise and Todd Kennedy; great-grandchildren, Dyllan Gaskin, Christopher Marse, Colby Swanson and Julianna Glenn.
Following cremation, the family will receive friends from 7:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 618 W. Main St.
