
Born in Fechenheim, Germany to August and Regina Endres. She was a sister to Hans, Anna, Gretel and Louisa. She married Adrian Henry Stilson II on August 28, 1947 and moved to Columbus Ohio. She was proud to become an American citizen in 1953.
She lived many years in Hampton Virginia and had many friends in the Tidewater area. She worked for the Hampton School system and for the YMCA on Fort Monroe. She enjoyed teaching swimming to children and being a Girl Scout leader. She was a national competitor in the Senior Olympics and had earned gold and silver medals at the state level in swimming. She was a member of the Appalachian Trail Club and loved the Blue Ridge Mountains. She was an active volunteer at the Sandy Bottoms Nature Park in Newport News. She enjoyed traveling to New York City, the Grand Canyon, Maine, Santa Fe NM, the Oregon Coast, San Carlos Mexico and Germany. She loved talking to people and sharing stories of her grandchildren. She moved to Waynesboro in 2008 and was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, where she was known for her engaging personality and cookies.
She passed peacefully with her daughter Heidi and her beloved dog, Peppy, at her side. She is survived by her son Adrian Stilson, daughters and sons-in-law Ingrid and Hugo Tyson, Heidi and Wiley Cochran. Grandchildren: Niels Stilson, Jake Meredith, Nicco Tyson, Anya Tyson, Sage Beam, Erica Cochran, Emily Cochran, Mickey Cochran. Great Grandchildren: Caleb and Jared Beam, Sienna and Leo Stilson and many friends.
Memorial service: Saturday; May 19, 2012, 1PM Grace Lutheran Church, Waynesboro, Reverends Cynthia Long and William Stewart officiating.
