James Ottobine Hiner

He was born on September 23, 1923 in Mustoe, a son of the late James Ellet and Hattie (Acord) Hiner.

Mr. Hiner was an active member of Smyrna Presbyterian Church.

He retired from DuPont in 1982 after 35 years of Service. Jim was a Navy veteran and served in the Pacific during World War ll. He was an active member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars for many years.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Doris H. Hiner; daughter, Brenda L. Hiner; three brothers and two sisters.

He is survived by a nephew, who was like his son, Reggie Hiner and his wife, Millie; sisters-in-law, Judy K. Hiner and Priscilla Ann Argenbright and her husband, Bob; multiple nieces and nephews; two god-grandchildren, Eben Dowling and Katrina Janney.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at Smyrna Presbyterian Church, 174 Dooms Crossing Rd., Waynesboro, with Dr. Henry Scoggins officiating. Burial will be private with military honors by American Legion Post 340.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes.
