James V Loughran, Jr.

James Vincent Loughran, Jr., went to be with his Lord on Saturday, May 11, 2019. He was born in New York, a son of the late James Vincent, Sr., and Beetris Shockley Loughran. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Joe Loughran; niece, Meredith Carol Loughran. Survivors include a brother, John Patrick Loughran and wife, Kern of Richmond; niece, Katherine Clagett; longtime friend, Brenda Ayers. James was raised in Arlington and was a member of St. Francis Of Assisi Catholic Church in Staunton. James spent much of his life in Northern Virginia with his final years living in and around Waynesboro. He was a graduate of both Georgetown University School of Business, and Washington and Lee University School of Law. After five years in private law practice, he spent the remainder of his legal career with the Federal Government in Washington, D.C, and as a judge. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at Green Hill Cemetery in Buena Vista, with Father Joseph Wamala officiating, where he will be laid to rest beside his beloved Mary Blackburn. There will be no public viewing or visitation at the funeral home. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes.
