Janine A. Stringham

Janine A. Stringham, 82, of Fishersville, VA passed away on May 17, 2026. Janine was born in Los Angeles, CA. She attended Mclean High School and completed three years of college in Munich Germany. Janine married William Stringham on June 5, 1965 in Oxnard, CA.

She used her organizational skills in several secretarial jobs including: a position at the Pentagon, an insurance agency, assisting with the family business Cycle Recycle, and as a personnel secretary of Augusta County schools for 12 years. She participated in many positions with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints including relief society, young women’s group, and nursery. She had a love of reading and taught an after school Great Books program to elementary children. Janine showed kindness to all people and things great and small.

Janine is preceded in death by her husband, William G. Stringham; sons, William B. Stringham and Taylor M. Stringham; parents, Bonnie and Orin M. Bixby; and aunt, Shirley Bixby.

Janine is survived by her daughter, Laurel Birckner and son-in-law, Brix Birckner; sisters, Diana Flynn and Barbara Bixby; brother-in-law, Richard Stringham; niece, Robin Fry and husband, Joel Fry; grandchildren, Rex Birckner, Mia Birckner, Brandon Stringham, and Olivia Eckard; great-grandchild, Brennan Stringham; great-grandniece, Eliza Fry; great-grandnephew, Ben Fry.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 24, 2026 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2825 Jefferson Lane, Waynesboro, VA.
