Jasper William “Pop” Davis , Jr., 91, passed away on Monday, December 31, 2018 at his residence.
He was born December 1, 1927, a son of the late Jasper William, Sr. and Alpha (Eavey) Davis.
Jasper proudly served his country in the United States Army, was a member of Zion Lutheran Church where he served as trustee and councilman and was a lifetime member of the New Hope Ruritan Club.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Louise Wilberger.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Carol Davis, sons; Dennis Davis and wife, Sharon, Steve Davis and wife, Tina and Mark Davis and wife, Joan; brother, Roger Davis, sisters, Ruby Kessler, Isabelle Fitzgerald, Helen Swisher and Peggy Bocock and husband Bobby; six grandchildren, Cameron Davis, Annie Davis, Heath Davis, Will Davis, Amber Davis and Alyssa Eberhard; step-grandson, Terry Jackson, and eight great grandchildren.
Following a private burial, a memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at Zion Lutheran Church, 297 Zion Church Road, Waynesboro with Pastors Wesley Smith and Jim Pence officiating.
There will be no public viewing or visitation at the funeral home. The family will receive friends at the residence anytime.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, 297 Zion Church Road, Waynesboro, Virginia 22980.
The Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes is in charge of arrangements.
