Jimmy Randall Ross

He was born August 8, 1935 in Augusta County, the son of the late Gilbert Dewey and Mary E. (Wolfe) Ross.

Pastor Ross received his Doctorate of Ministry Degree and served the Church of the Brethren for 60 plus years in Virginia, Maryland and Pennsylvania.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings Ray Ross, Jerry Ross, Bill Ross, Lamar Ross and Peggy Fletcher.

On June 18, 1955 he married the former Betty Zane Chiles.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Zane (Chiles) Ross; his four children, Michael R. Ross and wife Lynne of Waynesboro, Sharon K. Rezin and husband Jeffrey of Middletown, Cheryl R. Cartwright of Royersford, Pennsylvania, Pamela R. Sheaffer and husband Steve of Enola, Pennsylvania; sister, Coralee Smith of Waynesboro; sister in-law, Frances (Frankie) Ross of Waynesboro; grandchildren, Clayton Cartwright, Lucas Rezin, Derek Cartwright, Zachary Rezin, Alexander Ross, Bryce Sheaffer, Molly Ross Briggs, Conner Sheaffer; great-grandchildren, Quinlyn Cartwright, Kelsey Cartwright and Dani Lynne Briggs.

He also leaves a number of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 24, 2026 in the Lantz Chapel of Bridgewater Retirement Home, Bridgewater, Va. with Chaplain Russ Barb officiating.
