Born October 14, 1949 in Syracuse, NY, the daughter of the late James and June (Cady) Burke. On June 5, 1971 she married William H. Scullion. The two shared 53 years of wonderful marriage together. Bill devotedly cared for Kathy over the 14 years of her illness with unwavering love and support.
Kathy’s happiest times were spent with her family, friends, and numerous horses, dogs, and cats. Kathy spent her whole life with horses. She loved caring for her horses, horseback riding, and teaching others to ride. She enjoyed hobbies such as tending to her gorgeous flower gardens, sewing, crafting, and working sudoku puzzles. Her grandkids loved spending time with her learning how to care for horses and create beautiful crafts. Kathy spent most of her career as a teaching assistant offering guidance and support to children with special needs. She made a tremendous impact on her students by teaching with care, patience, and love while building lifelong bonds. Kathy earned a strong reputation for her math teaching skills, but also performed exceptionally as the Jordan-Elbridge School District Budget Manager for several years before moving to Virginia.
