Leonard "Bud" Meadows Jr.

Leonard “Bud” Meadows, Jr., 77, of Fishersville, passed away on Friday July 20, 2012 at Augusta Nursing and Rehabilitation in Fishersville.

Bud was born on January 23, 1935 in Bellpoint, WV and was a son of the late Leonard and Glenna (Helmintoller) Meadows, Sr. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. Mr. Meadows retired from Dupont after 27 years of service as an operator. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and the light of his eye were his grandchildren.

On April 9, 1955 he married the former Lula “Lu” Marion, who survives.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Meadows is survived by a daughter, Tammy Early and husband Todd of Greensboro, NC; a son, Greg Meadows and wife Kim of Crimora; a brother, Donald Meadows and wife Ellen of Waynesboro; six grandchildren, Tyler Meadows, Zach Meadows, Chase Meadows, Meagan Early, Hunter Early, Caroline Early; and many special friends who will miss him greatly.

A graveside service will be held on Monday July 23, 2012 at 1 PM at Augusta Memorial Park with Pastor Bill Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 6 until 8 pm at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes.

Honorary pallbearers for the graveside service will be his grandchildren.
