Linda was born on July 1, 1961 in Hartford, CT. She was born to the late Hazel Fitzgerald and daughter to Lloyd David McDaniel Jr. and Dreama S. McDaniel.
Linda was a graduate of Wilson Memorial High School. Linda went on to pursue her passion for caring for others at Louise Obici Nursing School and graduated in 1982. After completing her Nursing Degree, she went on to become Head RN of Labor and Delivery at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Honesdale, PA. Linda was awarded with the Red Cross RN pin for her service and commitment to her community. In recent years she was resident of Suffolk, VA and a member of Cypress Chapel Church. Linda loved singing and playing piano, she shared this passion with many throughout the years. Longaberger baskets had a large presence in her home, as she once was an award-winning consultant for the company. Along with her love for cooking and baking, she also enjoyed a challenging cross-stitch. Her greatest love in life were her two granddaughters.
Linda was preceded in death by her grandparents Lloyd David McDaniel, Sr. and his wife, Geneva, Dennis V. Sandridge and his wife, Ruby and her sister Joanne E. Goolsby.
In addition to her parents, Lloyd David McDaniel Jr. and Dreama S. McDaniel of Grottoes, VA, she is survived in life by her son, Bradford Owen Ellis (Becky) of Suffolk, VA; granddaughters, Elizabeth and Abigail Ellis; siblings, Tina Ortiz of Waynesboro, Trena McDaniel (Linda) of Lake Zurich, IL, and Lloyd David McDaniel III (Linda) of Churchville, Va. She also is survived in life by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and extended family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 7, 2019 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 618 W. Main St., Waynesboro.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 8, 2019 at Blue Ridge Chapel Church of the Brethren, 19 Browns Lane, Waynesboro, with Pastor Mike Wood officiating. Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park.
Active pallbearers will be Derek Metzger, Derek McDaniel, Wesley Hobbs, Eddie Major, Phil Sandridge, Jimmy Hobbs, Ricky Bates and TC McDaniel.
Memorial contributions may be made to Blue Ridge Chapel Church of the Brethren – Sound System, as Linda had a love for music and her church.
