Lois Davis

She was born on December 14, 1926 in Sacramento, CA, the daughter of the late Clifford Marriel and Evelyn N. (Beck) Alt.

Lois was a member of Tinkling Spring Presbyterian Church and retired from the former K-Mart of Waynesboro.

She was an avid gardener, enjoyed knitting, crocheting, traveling, reading and camping.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis C. Davis on April 17, 2004; a son, Lewis Davis, Jr.; daughter, Lynn Sutton; grandson, Jamie Sutton; son-in-law, Wayne Sutton and a sister, Aileen Anderson.

Survivors include a daughter, Kathleen Wine and husband Steve; grandchildren, Wayne Sutton and wife Kelly, Stony Wine and companion Amanda Jacobs, Stephanie Ellis and husband Thomas, Matthew Wine and wife Julie; 15 great grandchildren and one sister Shirley Soule of CA.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 29, 2026 at Tinkling Spring Presbyterian Church with her grandson, the Rev. Matthew Tyler Wine officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 28, 2026 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes.
