

Lois was born in Maryland to Edna Mae (Counts) Napier and Bernard Napier on November 27th, 1943. She was a devoted wife and mother who adored her children and grandchildren. Lois owned her own lamp shop for several years before deciding to concentrate on raising her family. She loved to gamble, hitting the slot machines in Charles Town, and enjoyed visiting vineyards with her family. Her large family was her world, and Lois was one of eight siblings.
In addition to her parents, Lois was preceded in death by her husband, John Douglas Johnston Sr; sisters, Shirley Bise, Patricia Hooker, Linda Kwarziany and Nancy Gray, as well as her brother, Bernard Napier.
Lois is survived by her son, J.D. Johnston and wife Mary of Waynesboro; daughter, Laura Johnston Frank and husband Tommy of Crimora; her grandchildren, Ashley Johnston, Chris Terry, Jordan Thacker and Benton Thacker; as well as her great-grandchildren, Addyson, Lennon, Cason, Bowen and Cillian. In addition, she is survived by two brothers, James Napier and wife Brenda, and Ray Napier and wife Sherry; special cousins, James and Sarah Franklin as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside memorial service will be conducted at Augusta Memorial Park with Mr. Jeff Griffith officiating. Services are private at this time.
