Marvin "Sonny" Eugene Fox

Marvin Eugene Fox, 85 of Lyndhurst passed away Monday morning, February 20, 2012 at Augusta Health.

He was born December 31, 1926 in Rockbridge County, son of the late James Roscoe Fox and Myrtle Ellen Sours Fox.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Craig.

Mr. Fox was a member of the Oak Hill United Methodist church and was retired from Flowers Baking Co. He enjoyed good food, traveling, working with crafts, and canning. He loved his wife, his sons, and his grandchildren. He never met a stranger.

He is survived by his wife, Louise Grant Fox; two sons, Thomas E. Fox and his wife Mary of Lyndhurst, Larry W. Fox and his wife Debra of Stuarts Draft; one brother, Earl Fox and his wife Mary of Lyndhurst; one sister, Nellie Fitzgerald of Fairfield; grandchildren, Randy Fox, Terry Fox, Shannon Fox, Kimberly Hamilton, Michelle Fox and Michael Fisher; great-grandchildren, Taylor K. Fox, Brandon Fox, Jordan Fox, Michael Dawson, Cody Dawson, Caleb Fox and Kiam Fox.

The family would like to give special thanks to Augusta Health I.C.U. nurses and doctors.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes of Waynesboro.

A service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 23, 2012 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes with Rev. Michael Pettry officiating. Burial will follow at Augusta Memorial Park.

Active pallbearers will be Michael Dawson, Stacy Hamilton, Shannon Fox, Michael Fisher, William Reid and Robert Duke.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Oak Hill United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 317, Lyndhurst, VA 22952.
