Mary Warren Bowyer

Mary Leida Warren Bowyer, 83, passed on to her eternal peace of Friday July 6, 2012. She passed peacefully in her home in Staunton, VA. She was born on May 1, 1929, Mary Leida Warren, daughter of Elizabeth Viola and James Warren. She married Bobby Odell Bowyer on November 4, 1950, who preceded her in death on January 18, 1997. Mary was also preceded in death by her brothers and sister.

She is survived by three loving children and their families; daughter Mary Linda Bowyer and husband Glenn Carr of Bend, Oregon; son, Robert Wayne Bowyer and wife Donna of Staunton, VA; daughter Suzanne Sam Bowyer-McWhorter and husband Bill of Elkins, WV.

Mary has four grandchildren; Kristi Leigh Hatcher and husband Jarrett; Matthew Wayne Bowyer and wife Meghan; Eli Madison McWhorter and Willa Rose Logan McWhorter.

Mary also has four great-grandchildren; Natalie, Joshua, Jacob and Zane.

She was a member of Memorial Baptist Church. She worked for many years at the Virginia Highway Department until her retirement. She enjoyed her retirement with her husband as they traveled around the United States.

She spent her last year in the company of great friends where she lived at Legacy at North Augusta.

A funeral service will be held on Monday July 9, 2012 at 10 am at the Staunton Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 18 W. Frederick St., Staunton, VA 24401 with Rev. Luke Smith officiating. Burial will follow at 2:30 PM at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Prosperity, WV with Dr. Marvin Parvi officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday July 8, 2012 from 3 until 4 PM at the funeral home.
