

Born July 27, 1962 in Harrisonburg, he was the son of the late William Jack and Dorothy Mary (Garrison) Brown.
Prior to his illness, Michael was employed by the City of Waynesboro where he worked as a backhoe operator for many years. He was a race car enthusiast and spent many weekends at Eastside Speedway where he competed in the sportsman’s class. He loved spending time with his family and greatly enjoyed watching western movies, coon hunting, and riding horses. He will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Pamela Jean “Sissy” Brown; siblings, Wesley Brown, Morgan Brown, David Brown, Bill Brown, Will Brown, Russell Brown, Sherman Pete Brown, and Barbara Fisher.
Survivors include a son, Michael Ray Brown, Jr. of Waynesboro; two grandchildren, Cheyenne Brown and Evan Brown both of Stuarts Draft; siblings, Hubert Brown and wife, Betty, of Lyndhurst, Peggy Sweet and husband, Pete, of Richmond, Mary Garth of Greenville, Dickie Garrison and wife, Carolyn, of Waynesboro, Danny Brown and wife, Debbie, of Waynesboro, Debbie Smith of Waynesboro, Connie Branch of Waynesboro, and Greg Brown and wife, Beverley, of Waynesboro; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 618 W. Main St., Waynesboro.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at Riverview Cemetery, 420 Rosser Ave., Waynesboro. All who plan to attend are asked to meet directly at the cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Kyle Brown, Clyde Mayo, Daniel Brown, Jr., Junior Alford, Michael Scott, and J.R. Coffey.
The family would like to give a special heartfelt thank you to Nikki Mayo for her love and care of Michael.
