

He was born December 8, 1953 in Ohio, a son of the late Yourtha and Elizabeth Claytor.
Mike was a member of Sher-Lynd Baptist Church and was a welder by trade.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mammie Hawse and his Grandfather Crookshanks.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon Claytor, four daughters; Bernice “Bunny” Mendoza and husband Justin of Harrisonburg, Alicia Doyle and husband Chris of Waynesboro, Karen Claytor Bennett and husband Jeremy of Stuarts Draft, Amber Fitzgerald and husband R. J. of Fishersville, two brothers; Bill Claytor of Greenville, Paul Claytor of South Carolina, four sisters; Madeline Snyder of Afton, Arlene Cleveland of Greenville, Mary Ann Magoon of Greenville, Christine Fitzgerald of Greenville, eleven grandchildren; Amanda Mendoza, Nathan Mendoza, Michael Claytor, Brendan Mendoza, Dylan Almarode, Desiree Graves, Jordan Graves, Marley Doyle, Jacob Fitzgerald, Addison Mason, Maggie Bennett; two great-grandchildren; Mariah Nelson, Aubrey Mendoza, three step-grandchildren; Drake Doyle, Austin Fitzgerald, Marcquese Banks, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Mike also leaves behind several special friends.

A memorial service will held at 7:00 PM Saturday, February 22, 2104 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes by Brother Roscoe Harris and Pastor Billy Coffey. Military Honors will be provided by American Legion Post 340.
The family will receive friends following the service.
