He was born on September 3, 1960 in Waynesboro, a son of James Garrison and the late Betty Rexrode Garrison.
Mike loved the outdoors, especially fishing and camping at Smith Mountain Lake, being a truck driver, fixing things when they broke down and spending time with his companion, Mary Smith and their dogs.
He is survived by Mary Smith of the residence; a special aunt and uncle, Melvin and Carolyn Rexrode and many friends.
In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by his only sister, Cheryl Garrison Bell.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. in the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes with Pastor Bobby Campbell officiating.
His request was for memorial donations to be made to the SPCA.
