He was born on July 17, 1945, the son of the late Lewis William Toms Jr. and Thelma Harding Toms.
Mike retired from the United States Postal Service, where he served as Postmaster for the Nellysford Post Office and was a member of Rodes United Methodist Church in Afton.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Smith.
Survivors include his wife, Linda (Snead) Toms of 57 years; son, Michael Benjamin Toms of Afton; sister, Rebecca Andrews of Waynesboro; and three grandchildren, William Tyler Toms, Alyssa Kay Toms and Justin Scott Birckhead.
Following cremation, there will be no services.
