Juanita Lawhorne (Carr) Kincaid, 86, passed away at home on Monday, February 26, 2018. She was born in Charlottesville on November 27, 1932, a daughter of the late Beaurey Miller and Lelia Lawhorne Carr. She attended Waynesboro Schools. Upon her graduation from Waynesboro High School in September of 1949, and grew up at Princeton Cottage. She worked for Safeway Stores for 30 years retiring in September of 1986. Juanita was an active member at West Waynesboro Church of Christ and was instrumental in establishing the congregation. She served as a Sunday School teacher, a member of the missions committee and was an active member of the church choir. On June 8, 1949, she married George Marvin Kincaid who preceded her in death on December 20, 2002. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother and six sisters. She is survived by two daughters, Karen Kincaid Campbell and husband, Robert Warren “Bob” of Stuarts Draft and Diana Lynn Kincaid of Staunton; son, Anthony Christopher “ Tony” Kincaid of Staunton; three grandchildren, Michael Daren Campbell and wife, Brooke of Mt. Sidney, Tara Lynn Campbell Hilt and husband, Lee of Churchville, Justin Wesley Campbell and wife Carman of Waynesboro; two great grandsons; four great granddaughters; sister, Pat Gill of Waynesboro; three nieces, six nephews and a number of great nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, March 2, 2018 at West Waynesboro Church of Christ by Phil Forehand. Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Bill Ferrier, L. G. Ferrier, Bob Bergey, Lyle Fitzgerald, Gene Kline, Bob McCracken and Lewis Gurkin. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Young at Heart Sunday School Class. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, March 1, 2018 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Home.
