Ray Hamilton Johnson, Sr., 72, of Waynesboro passed away on Thursday, November 18, 2021 at his residence.
Born July 5, 1949, he was a son of the late Cecil Franklin, Sr. and Eva Virginia (Raines) Johnson.
Ray was a veteran of the United States Army, retired from Augusta Health and was a member of the Ambassador Holiness Church in Waynesboro.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Marie Allen, Joyce Snead, Delores Eskew and Cecil Johnson, Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Carol (Moore) Johnson; son, Ray Johnson, Jr. and wife, Kim; daughters, Natasha Johnson, Tracy Leach; sisters, Shirley Fitzgerald, Tessie Atkins and husband, Roger, Dorothy Campbell and husband, Leonard; brother, William Johnson; grandchildren, Owen Ray Johnson, Zoie Leach, Joshua Leach, Breydan Herring, Dylan Herring, Kenneth Everett, Hayden Everett, Kaigen Everett, Timothy Everett, Samuel Everett, Melissa Everett and Azrael Leach.
A service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at Straightway Ambassador Holiness Church, 247 N. Augusta Ave., Waynesboro with Brother Fred Canter officiating. Burial with military rites will follow in Augusta Memorial Park.
Active pallbearers will be David Moore, William Moore, Jr., Michael Louck, David Perry, David Fortune and Aaron Eavey.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
