

He was born July 19, 1944 in Staunton, Virginia a son of the late Homer Clinton Armstrong and Barbara Simantel Steinspring.
He retired from DuPont after 39 years of service as a control equipment mechanic.
His family meant everything to him and he enjoyed helping others following his retirement from DuPont.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Wallace Steinspring.
Survivors include his two daughters; Penny Gilbert and husband Alan of Staunton, Candy Rankin and husband Chris of Fishersville, three sisters; Rebecca Cash and husband Jerry of Fishersville, Linda Rodeffer and husband Eddie of Waynesboro, Pat Rothermel of Delaware, three grandchildren; Justin Armstrong, Sarah Judy, Brennen Gilbert and one great-granddaughter, Abbey Judy.
He also leaves the mother of his children, Judy Armstrong.
At his request his body will be cremated. A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m., Sunday November 2, 2014 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes by Joseph Bryant.
The family will receive friends following the memorial service.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 1701 North Beauregard Street Alexandria, VA 22311.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes.
