

Robert Allen Lam, 94, of Waynesboro passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2016 at Kings Daughters Community Health & Rehab. He was born in Elkton on July 17, 1922, a son of the late Fred and Polly (Meadows) Lam.
Robert was a retired worker from Genicom. He had a great passion for music; playing the bass, guitar, and the fiddle in many local bands. Robert also enjoyed camping. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather with a loving and giving heart.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 57 years, Opal E. Lam; a son, Timothy Allen Lam and his siblings, Viola Meadows, Arvella Monger, Shelvia Jean Campbell, Albert Lam, James Lam, and Norman Lam. Survivors include his daughter, Aileen Hoke and husband, Gary of Crimora; daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Lam of Waynesboro; grandchildren, Timothy Duane Lam, Blake Allen Lam both of Waynesboro, Stephanie Lotts of Crimora and Darren Scott Trustlow of Stuarts Draft; step grandchildren, Amanda Hoke Martin of Waynesboro and Kyle Matthew Hughes of Crimora; numerous great and step grandchildren; siblings, Otis Lam and wife, Joyce, Leo Lam and wife, Evelynn, Sylvia Shifflet and Marie Lawson all of Elkton; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00a.m. on Friday, September 9, 2016 at Augusta Memorial Park with Rev. Chris Pulice officiating.
There will be no formal family night at the funeral home. Those wishing to pay their respects to Robert may do so at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes on Thursday, September 8 , 2016 during normal business hours. The family will receive friends at Aileen’s home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Robert’s memory to your local SPCA.
