Robert Edward Murray, II

Robert Edward Murray, II, 56, of Verona, passed away on Monday, February 27, 2017 at the University of Virginia Medical Center. He was born in Raleigh, North Carolina on November 4, 1960, a son of Robert E. and Jessie E. (Hartman) Murray.

Robert’s hobbies included fishing, cooking, working on cars, watching NASCAR and spending time with his family. He will be remembered for his loving and giving heart.

Robert was greeted into heaven by his mother, and in-laws, Earl and Carlene Young. Left to cherish his memory is his father; his wife, Karen E. (Young) Murray; brothers, Donnie Smith and wife, Charlene of Florida and Ray Murray and wife, Debbi of Fort Defiance; brother-in-law, Greg Young and wife, Kathy of Maine; nephews, Ray Murray II and Amanda Stone of Waynesboro, Cody Murray of Waynesboro, Dean and Brett Hall; nieces, Jill and Kelly Hall, Angela Hamann and husband, Greg of Maine and Diana London and husband, Matt of Maine; a great niece and a great nephew.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 3, 2017 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes.

The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the staff at the University of Virginia Medical Center for their loving care of Robert and his family.
