On Thursday, January 9, 2014, the heavens received a bright star, Robert Hunter "Petey" Stockman of North Delphine Avenue in Waynesboro.
Petey passed away in his sleep at Augusta Health surrounded by members of his family.
He is survived by his fiancee, Carol Fowler, who was by his side when he passed away. Petey is also survived by his mother, Lynn Gibson of Waynesboro; three sisters, Faye Chittum and her husband, Chucky, who he lived with in Waynesboro, Debbie Gibson and husband, Kenneth, of Roanoke, and Lisa Gillespie and husband, Mark, of West Augusta; a brother, Mike Gibson and wife, Michelle, of Waynesboro; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was closest with Tuesday Chittum and her daughters, Carly and Brooklyn. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Stockman.
