Ronald Curtis Hewitt, Sr.

Born November 3, 1945 in Waynesboro he was a son of the late Thurman and Shirley Huffman Hewitt.

Ronald worked for Genicom as a Machinist where he retired after 20 years of service. He was a member of Good News Ministries in Staunton. He found enjoyment in cars, cutting wood, building things and especially in watching car racing.

Survivors include his wife of seven years, Shirley Hewitt: children, Tammy Franco and husband Simon, Ronnie Hewitt, Jr., Tony Hewitt and wife Angie, Jami Harris and companion Antoine, Brandon Hewitt and fiancée Jessica Critzer and Deborah Mulligan; brothers, Charlie Miller and wife Ellen, Jimmy Miller and wife Nancy, George Miller and wife Ellen; sister, Gerri DeVoe; 11 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes with Pastors Gregory Miller, Sr. and Bobbie Knoezer officiating. Burial will follow at Augusta Memorial Park.

Active pallbearers will be Doug Gibson, Will Ragland, Matt Houghtaling, Zack Miller, Larry Hagy and Ken Hanst.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 3, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
