Sandra Faye Fitzgerald

Born December 30, 1950 in Augusta County, she was the daughter of the late George Webster Shaffer, Sr. and Stella (Clark) Shaffer.

Sandra was a member of Lyndhurst United Methodist Church. She was employed by Burris Logistics where she worked as a checker until she retired. She enjoyed spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one step-grandson, Dustyn Fitzgerald.

Survivors include her loving husband of 14 years, Ralph E. Fitzgerald, Sr.; children, Angela Glass and husband, Scott, Herman Fitzgerald, Jr. and wife, Jennifer, Sabrina von Schilling and husband, Steve and Justin Fitzgerald and wife, Lisa; step-children, Ralph “R.J.” Fitzgerald, Jr., Tonya Gibson and husband, Michael and Gina Nazelrod; grandchildren, Jason and Courtney Arey, Clinton, Lena, Tesla, and Jared Fitzgerald, Jordan Johnson, Hunter von Schilling and Emery Fitzgerald; two step-grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; siblings, Carol Shaffer and husband, Harry Payne, Diana Shaffer, Webb Shaffer and wife, Nancy Fox and Vernie Carrico, Jr. and wife, Eula Mae; number of nieces and nephews; as well as her toy poodle, Scooter.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 26, 2015 at Lyndhurst United Methodist Church with Rev. Michael Pettry officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Webb Shaffer, Jr. Fitzgerald, Randy Morris, Tony Floyd, Harry Payne and Michael Payne. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 25, 2015 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 618 W. Main St.
