Sheldon Clinton Eye

Sheldon Clinton Eye, 92, of Waynesboro passed away on Friday, April 12, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family. Born October 10, 1931 in Augusta County, he was a son of the late Edgar A. and Virginia (Propst) Eye. Sheldon was a graduate of Wilson Memorial High School and the Dunsmore Business School. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served his country honorably in Korea during the Korean conflict and rose to the rank of SP4. Prior to retirement in 1990, he was employed by UVA where he worked as the business manager in the University Dining Services. After retirement from UVA, he was a licensed real estate agent with Century 21 Lennox for four years. He then went to work part-time for Home IV Care and Nutritional Services in Stuarts Draft and retired after 25 years of faithful service. Sheldon was a faithful and longtime member of First Baptist Church, Waynesboro. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Duaine Eye (June); and sisters, Arvonna Balsley (Bill) and Doretha Dahmer (Morris). He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Patsy Anne (Dodd) Eye of Waynesboro; son, Gregory S. Eye and wife, Amy, of Verona; step-granddaughters, Heather Nadeau (Vince) and Caty Stogdale (Trevor); step-great-grandchildren, Braden, Ava, Presley, Landon, and Olivia; and two sisters-in-law, Barbara (Dodd) Ramsey of Lyndhurst and Joyce (Dodd) Robertson of Fayetteville, NC; and his dog, “Lucy” who was his best friend and companion for 16 years. A graveside service with military honors will be held at 11:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at Beech Grove Christian Church Cemetery, Cub Creek Road, Beech Grove, VA with Rev. Dr. Jim White and Rev. Justin Moser officiating. All who plan to attend are asked to meet directly at the cemetery. There will be no formal viewing or visitation at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, 301 S.
