Stevie Lee Harris

Born on February 24, 1960, he was a son of the late David Thomas and Corine Blanche (Brooks) Harris.

Stevie owned and operated his own trucking business for over 40 years. Stevie was a long time, avid drag racer and when he wasn’t on the road, you could find him at the race track. The only thing he enjoyed more than drag racing was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Stevie was a member of the Waynesboro Moose Lodge and Calvary Baptist Church where he attended regularly.

In addition to his parents, Stevie was preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Iven Harris; grandchildren, Jaylyn Kenyon Harris and Aiden Alexander Harris; and nephew, Tony Harris.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving and devoted wife, Wanda (Hicklin) Harris; son, Daniel Harris and girlfriend, Kristen Crawford; daughter, Christina Harris and fiancé, Scottey Duncan; brother, David Lee Harris and wife, Alice; grandchildren, Noah Harris, Stella Harris, Brayden Harris and Hunter Crawford; nephew, David “Dee” Harris; and numerous nieces and nephews. He will also be greatly missed by all of his racing friends and family, and, all of his fur babies.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 29, 2023 at Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes with Pastor Bill Cole officiating. Interment will follow at Augusta Memorial Park.

Active pallbearers will be Jason Almarode, David Harris, Dee Harris, Dave Steppe, Ricky Kite, Mikey Kite, Boo Lawhorn, and Clay Bartley.

Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren, Noah Harris, Brayden Harris, Stella Harris, and Hunter Crawford.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Stevie’s name may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, P.O. Box 820, Waynesboro, VA 22980.
