Thomas Carl Brooks, Sr.

Thomas Carl Brooks, Sr., 72, of Waynesboro passed away on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Augusta Health. Born February 23, 1949 in Waynesboro, he was the son of the late Harry Carl Brooks and Pauline (Dunn) Brooks. Prior to retirement, he was employed by DuPont where he worked for over 30 faithful years. Thomas was a U.S. Air Force veteran having served his country honorably during the Vietnam War as a medic. He greatly enjoyed carpentry, and was skilled in woodworking. Survivors include his three sons, Thomas Carl “Sonny” Brooks, Jr. and wife, Sherry of Rockingham, Matthew Todd Brooks and wife, Amy of Rockingham, and Nathaniel Scott Brooks and wife, Amber of Verona; grandchildren, Chad and Tristin Brooks both of Waynesboro, Ricky and Steven Brooks both of Rockingham, Sydney Rexrode of Swoope, Anakin Brooks of Verona and Noah, Levi, and Jude Brooks all of Rockingham; five great-grandchildren; sister, Sharon Shifflett and husband, Roger of Crimora; and nephews, Justin and Wyatt Shifflett of Waynesboro. Following cremation, a private memorial service will be held. There will be no formal viewing or visitation at the funeral home.
