Vernon Steve Hodge

Steve was born on August 23, 1954 in Waynesboro, and was a son of the late Julian Hodge and the late Betty Hodge Driscoll. He was also predeceased by a sister, Melinda Hodge Johnson of Rockville.

Mr. Hodge is survived by a stepfather, Robert Driscoll of Newport News; aunt, Evelyn Billings (Ralph) of Waynesboro; and a brother in law, Ben Johnson of Rockville. He is also survived by numerous cousins, who he had closeness with; special friend Dwight Kell of Moneta; and special friends, Pauletta Waggy of Waynesboro and Carolyn Shifflett of Crimora.

Steve had a love for collecting antiques and you might have run into him anywhere in Virginia or elsewhere at an antique store, an auction, or a flea market. This was his passion in life as well as maintaining friendships with neighbors and friends he had known his whole life. He also had a special love for his dog Toby.

Steve was retired from Augusta Health and WayneTex/Mohawk, both located in Waynesboro.

He will be missed by many and his memory will live on in everyone’s hearts.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 15, 2022 at 11 am at Augusta Memorial Park with Pastor Bill Trice officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
