

Milton was a lifetime member of Springdale Mennonite Church. He was a retired truck driver for Wilson Trucking.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 70 years, Mary Ellen Showalter; an infant daughter, Mary Sue Showalter; siblings, Winfred and Lenard Showalter, Lois Herr, Marjorie Shank and Shirley Minnick.
Survivors include his two sons, Ward Milton Showalter, Jr and his wife, Pat of Oklahoma, and Donny Showalter and his wife, Jenny of Fishersville; a daughter, Sandy Whitesell of Waynesboro; daughter -in-law, Dwan Showalter of Lyndhurst; eight grandchildren; 30 great- grandchildren; one great great- grandchild; siblings, Ralph Showalter and Dorothy Shank; great grand dog Sparky; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at Springdale Mennonite Church, 170 Hall School Rd., Waynesboro, with Pastor Kevin Goertzen officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. on Monday, October 10, 2016 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Milton’s memory to the Hospice of the Shenandoah, P.O. Box 1000, Fishersville, VA 22939.
