Wilbert Henry Cale Wilbert Henry Cale, 89, of Florence Avenue, Waynesboro, died at 12:02 a.m. on Tuesday, January 1, 2013, at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville.
He was born on December 22, 1923, in Waynesboro, a son of the late Henry Harrison and Nannie Henderson Cale. He was a United States Navy veteran, a member of the Waynesboro Christian Church and retired on July 1, 1986, from the DuPont Company of Waynesboro.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Cale; three sisters, Nora Campbell, Dorothy Riley and Helen Moore.
Survivors include a son, Mark Anthony Cale and wife, Christa, of Waynesboro; a daughter, Norma Anne Cale of Waynesboro; a brother, Bobby Lee Cale of Waynesboro; a sister, Phyllis Smith of Waynesboro; five grandchildren, Judith Anne Flavin, Miranda Jane Lam, April Melody Riddle, Megan Louise Cale, Stephanie Nicole Cale; ten great-grandchildren, Billie Travis Bradley, Brandon Lam, Taylor Riddle, Jordan Lam, Hannah Lam, Isabella Lam, Lanie Riddle, Matthew Reynolds, Lucas Reynolds and Landon Reynolds. He also leaves a special pet, "Skittles".
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 7, 2013, at Augusta Memorial Park by Phil Forehand. Military rites will be provided by American Legion Post 340.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. on Sunday, January 6, 2013, at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes.
