Cathy Ann Held, 70, of Waynesburg, PA, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2025, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. She was surrounded by the love of her family, including her devoted husband of 52 years, Douglas Held.
Cathy was born on December 17, 1954, in Fairmont, WV, and graduated from Waynesburg High School in 1973. She spent her life caring for others—as a mother, wife, friend, and selfless member of her church and community. Her heart for service and her gentle presence touched everyone who knew her.
Cathy was a proud and active member of First Baptist Church of Waynesburg, where her faith and compassion were evident in everything she did. She loved walking, gathering in community, and giving generously of her time and energy to those in need.
She is survived by her husband Douglas, her children Adam (Heather) and Amanda (Ian), her beloved grandchildren Piper, Clark, Betsy, and Lucy, and her siblings Terry, Scott, and Kelly, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Joan, and her brother Marc.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 11th from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and a funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 12th at 10:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church, 303 W. High Street in Waynesburg; interment to follow at Greene County Memorial Park.
Cathy’s life was a beautiful example of love, faith, and generosity. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of her family and all who were blessed to know her.
