

He was born May 22, 1940 in East Finley, a son of the late Freddie L. Tennant Sr. and Louise Cheek Tennant.
He was a 1958 graduate of West Greene High School, and was trained as a radiology technician at Greene County Memorial Hospital.
After working as a radiology technician he began working as a coal miner for Consolidation Coal Co. at the Rose Valley Mine in Hopedale, OH and the Humphrey No. 7 mine in Mt. Morris. He later worked as a truck driver for Sorice Trucking and Jordan Auto Parts.
Mr. Tennent was a member of the Mapletown United Methodist Church. He was a member of the drama team at the Waynesburg Bible Chapel, and a volunteer with WPAC Mission u. He was also a member of the White Bridge Covered Bridge Association and U.M. W. of A Local 1058. His hobbies were hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed car shows and auto racing.
Surviving are his wife, Debra Freeman Tennant, whom he married on October 19, 1978; 3 daughters, Kim Harris (Gary) of Waynesburg, Tracy Tennant of Waynesburg, and Lori Ann Tennant of Morgantown; 4 grandchildren, Amanda (George) Harris, Brian Harris, Lucas Tennant, and Theresa Tennant; one brother, Frank Tennant of Waynesburg; 3 sisters, Gloria Cox, Mona Stewart, and Paula Zeiler, all of Waynesburg.
Deceased in addition to his parents is a brother-in-law, Marty Stewart.
Friends will be received 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday and from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., the hour of services on Saturday, March 11, 2017 in Behm Funeral Homes Inc., 182 West High St., Waynesburg, with Rev. Kenneth Haines and Pastor Lanfer Simpson officiating, followed by burial in Monongahela Hill Cemetery. Condolences may be offered at www.behmfh.com .
