Gertrude VanDruff was born on December 22, 1931, in Marianna, PA. She was sent to her eternal home to be with her cherished husband, Harold, on March 7, 2025, at her home. She was the beloved daughter of the late Zora and Willa Crockett.
She grew up Marianna, PA surrounded by her many siblings. Her typing skills and quick memory helped her excel at West Beth High school, where she graduated. After high school, she worked at the Clover Farm Grocery where she had many fond memories. On June 16, 1956 she married her husband, Harold, of over sixty years. They settled in Kirby, PA where they started VanDruff Dairy Farm, a family farm of over 200 years, with hard work and dedication. A smart business woman, she managed the books and financial portion of the farm, in addition. They created a home of love and happiness for their children and family was a cornerstone of her entire life. Her green thumb created beautiful flowers over the entire farm and her love of creating flower arrangements decorated the inside of their home. Some of her favorite memories were traveling with the late Jim and Betty Anderson. She always said if you have one true friend you’re blessed and was grateful to find that in Jack and Nancy Cumpston. She truly embodied the spirit of Christmas, loving nothing more than shopping for the perfect gifts with her daughter and spreading holiday cheer with enormous cookie trays for all their friends and family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold F. VanDruff, son, Brion VanDruff; three brothers, Harry, Rufus, and Charlie and four sisters, Nora, Sara, Viola, and Vivian.
Gertrude is survived and missed by her daughter Shari (John) Curry, daughter in law Linda VanDruff, grandchildren Jordan (Megan) Curry, Sara VanDruff, great grandchild Henry Curry and sister Jenny Newbrough in addition to many nieces and nephews.
