

She was born May 23, 1925 in Waynesburg, a daughter of the late Larry Edwin Stephenson and Elizabeth Lemley Stephenson.
She was raised with four brothers on the family farm by the white barn on Smith Creek near Waynesburg.
Mrs. Brewer was a graduate of the Washington Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as a registered nurse in obstetrics at Greene County Memorial Hospital.
On July 25, 1944 she married her husband of 71 years, James L. Brewer, who survives.
Mrs. Brewer was a member of the First Baptist Church of Waynesburg where she served as a deaconess.
She loved spending time with her family; especially birthdays and family trips with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Brewer was a member of the Greene County Country Club where she won the club championship in 1980, 1988, and 1991.
Surviving in addition to her husband are a daughter, Dayna Brewer McClure (Craig) of Polson MT; a son, Lynn S. Brewer (Vickie) of Waynesburg; 4 grandchildren, Craig S. Brewer (Tedi), Erin McClure (Donny), Jamey Brewer (Sarah Hagedon), and Gavin P. McClure (Angi); 5 great-grandchildren, Bailey Brewer, Blake Brewer, Khali Brewer, Connor McClure, and Maggie McClure; one brother, James C. Stephenson of Waynesburg; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are three brothers, Robert, Paul, and William “Bill Joe” Stephenson.
Friends will be received 1 pm to 3 pm and 6 pm to 8 pm on Sunday in Behm Funeral Homes Inc., 182 W. High St., Waynesburg. Additional visitation will be held from 10 am to 10:45 am Monday, May 2, 2016 in the First Baptist Church , 303 West High St., Waynesburg followed by services at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Stewart Johnson officiating. Interment will be in Greene County Memorial Park.
