

John David Garber, 85, of Waynesburg, PA passed away at 11:40 PM, Sunday, April 12, 2026 at Waynesburg Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. He was born February 5, 1941 in Waynesburg, PA, the son of the late Charles Herman Garber and Myrtle Dunn Garber. His sister Carolyn Witt also preceded him in death. He was a graduate of Waynesburg High School and attended Trevecca Nazarene College. He is survived by his wife Loretta, whom he was married to for 66 years on April 7th. He is also survived by a daughter, Lisa and husband Chris Haines of Waynesburg, PA and a son John Mark and wife Lisa Garber of Waynesburg, PA. He has 5 Grandchildren: Kellen and wife Kelli Haines, Cody and wife Audra Haines, Kirsten and husband David Shannon, Claire Garber and Lucas Garber. He has 1 Great-Grandchild: Winni Jane Haines. John was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene where he was the song leader for 25 years. He loved southern gospel music and sang bass with several quartets. He was employed by Coen Oil company in Washington, PA for 32 years until his retirement. He then worked part-time at Jacob's Petroleum and later at Central Greene School District. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM on Thursday, April 16, 2026 in the Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home, Inc., 197 North Maiden St., Waynesburg PA 15370 Shane M. Ayers- Managing Director where his funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, April 17, 2026 with Pastor Brian Miller officiating.
