

He was born Sunday, August 19, 1945 in DuBois, Pa. A son of the late Thomas and Elizabeth (Noker) Bolam.
Joseph graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1963 where he excelled in basketball. He was a veteran who served several years in the United States Army Reserve. He moved to Buffalo, NY where he worked for General Motors from 1965-1974. Upon returning home to DuBois he started his career with the United States Postal Service in 1974. In 1992 he became a postmaster in Kersey, PA where he worked until his retirement in 2005.
Joseph served his community of DuBois as a volunteer fireman (Friendship Hose Company #2) from 1974-2005. He was a member of Saint Ann Catholic Church in Waynesburg, PA as well as a member of the Parson/Marnatti Legion Post #95 in Brockway, PA.
Joseph was a loving and dedicated father and grandfather. When it involved his grandchildren Papa Joe never missed a sports activity, music program, or dance recital.
Joseph is survived by his loving daughters Amy (Charles) Tedrow of Jefferson, PA and Janel (Robert) Garrison of Morgantown, WV and his Sister Kathryn Sackash of Fulshear, TX. He is also survived by his three grandchildren Autumn Tedrow of Connellsville, PA; Marisa Garrison of Morgantown, WV, and Wyatt Garrison of Morgantown, WV as well as several nieces and nephews.
Joseph was preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Elizabeth (Noker) Bolam; brother Thomas Bolam who died in infancy and brother James Bolam as well as his best buddy a Boston Terrier Rascal.
Joseph (Chico) will be deeply missed by all who loved and knew him. A Catholic Mass/ Celebration of Life will be held at the St. Catherine Catholic Church in DuBois at a later date to be announced.
