Kathryn "Katie" Vitek

Kathryn Colleen “Katie” Morton Vitek, 71, of Waynesburg, PA, died Friday, March 28, 2025, in the Waynesburg Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. She was born November 5, 1953, daughter of Samuel H. Morton and Lillian G. Morton.

Katie was a graduate of Waynesburg Central High School, and she completed a year of study at Pennsylvania Western University, Edinboro. A homemaker, Katie was an excellent baker, and she enjoyed art and crafting. She loved the outdoors and animals.

She is survived by a son, Andrew Hazen (Kayla Anderson) of Slovan, PA; three sisters, Diane Robinson (George) of York, PA, Linda Morton of Morgantown, WV, and Betty Morton Rinaudo (Tim) of Bossier City, LA; a brother, James Morton (partner Carolyn Fox) of Carmichaels, PA; two grandchildren and three nephews.

In addition to her parents, Katie was predeceased by her husband, Lamon “Leo” Vitek, SSgt US Marine Corps.

At the request of the deceased, there will be no visitation or services. Interment will be held in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, PA 15017.
