She was born February 25, 1927 in Waynesburg, a daughter of the late Thomas and Dessie Jeffries.
Margretta was a graduate of Waynesburg High School and the Uniontown School of Nursing.
She worked at Greene County Memorial Hospital for many years as a registered nurse. She later transferred to the hospital pharmacy where she worked until her retirement. She later graduated from Penn Commercial, where she trained as a hair stylist.
She was married to Frederick L. Clark, who passed away on June 7, 2003.
Margretta was a devoted Christian and loved her Lord. She was an active member of the Rolling Meadows Church of God in Waynesburg, where she had served as church clerk and president of the ladies group. She also served as a Sunday school teacher.
She will be remembered for her devotion devoted to her family; and for her strong faith in God. She spent many hours reading her Bible and listening to gospel music. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Surviving are a daughter, Sherry Abbott of Waynesburg, who was Margretta’s care giver for the past six years; ; 2 brothers, Paul (Zelda) Jeffries of Jefferson, and Ralph (Diane) Jeffries of Jefferson; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are 4 brothers, Allen, Harlon, Harold and David Jeffries; and two sisters, Evelyn Fagg , and E. Jean Jeffries.
