Martha J. Howard

She was born April 22, 1925 in Springhill Township, Greene County, a daughter of the late Bern and Nell Warrick Gump.

On May 28, 1951 she married Allen N. Howard, who died January 2, 1997.

Mrs. Howard had worked for 15 years as a telephone operator for the South Penn Telephone Company. She had also worked in the H. & P. Store in Waynesburg for several years.

She was a member of the Church of Christ in Waynesburg.

Mrs. Howard enjoyed playing bingo and watching the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Surviving are a daughter, Patricia (Lenny) Lohr of Waynesburg; a son, James A. (Kathy) Howard of Rices Landing; two grandchildren, Derek Lohr and Payton Lohr; nieces; and a nephew.

Deceased are two sisters, Maxine Guthrie and Mary Kodrin.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in Behm Funeral Homes Inc., 182 West High St., Waynesburg, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 7, 2016 with Rev. Edward Hanley officiating. Interment will follow Cedar Grove Cemetery in Mt. Morris.
