Sonja Jean Bowlen

Sonja lived a life marked by her strong faith and devotion to God. A lifelong student of the Bible, she cherished her relationship with the Lord, and her unwavering belief was a guiding light for all who knew her. Her passion for sharing the love of Christ touched many hearts, and she was a constant source of encouragement and inspiration. While she enjoyed sharing her talents for baking, music, sewing, and cooking, her greatest joy was found in growing deeper and loving relationships with family.

She was preceded in death by siblings Charles, Barry, Michael, Daniel, and Beth.

She is survived by her son, Richard (Tracy) Bowlen, daughters Dawn (Ethan) Melzer, and Emily (Clyde) Dunfee and the loves of her life, her grandchildren: Jessica, Allison, Charles, Noelle, Kiera, Austin, Richard, Claudia and 6 great grandchildren, Alex, Addlie, Elena, Charlotte, Annalise, and Theoden; siblings: Diane (Gary) Broadwater, Sandy (Michael) Hawkins, Patrick (Star) Tustin, Sharon (Joe) McClosky, Roger (Sandy) Tustin, Mary Dawn Huffstetler, Cynthia (Brian) Fenaughty, Tamara (Doug) Gallik, Judy (Chuck) Rose, Jon (Jackie) Tustin, Bryon (Holly) Tustin, Eric Tustin, Cathy (Tony) Zeus, Shawn (David) Clark.

Sonja's legacy is one of kindness, faith, and love. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, and her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.

Family and friends are invited to a memorial visitation with the family on Monday, April 27th, from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM, followed by a celebration of life at 3:00 PM at Behm Funeral Home, 182 W. High St., Waynesburg, PA 15370.
